A man in Ipoyewa community of Ikorodu, Lagos just bought a generator two days before the unfortunate incident that ended his family.
The man was afraid that if he left the generator outside it would be stolen because there has not been power supply for the past 3 years in their area.
According to reports,
The man, his wife and all his 3 children died after inhaling fumes from the generator which they kept in their room. The bodies of the family were discovered by neighbours last friday Sept 12th in their home when the family failed to come out late friday morning.
A neighbour peeped through the window, saw bodies, and alerted others. They broke down the door to discover the horror.
Residents of the community are blaming the family's death on lack of power in the area. They also said every house uses a generator because they have called on the government many times to help them with light but their efforts have yielded no fruit.
